Registro svizzero per la trasparenza: dal 1° ottobre 2026 nuovi obblighi per le persone giuridiche

From 1 October 2026, the new Federal Act on the Transparency of Legal Entities and the Identification of Beneficial Owners (LTPG) will enter into force, introducing a central federal register of beneficial owners in Switzerland.

The new legislation will affect a large number of legal entities, which will be required to identify and report the individuals who ultimately exercise effective control over them.

The reform introduces new organisational and administrative requirements and is also particularly relevant from a corporate governance perspective. Companies, groups and governing bodies should therefore understand, in good time, who must be identified as a beneficial owner, what information needs to be collected and the applicable deadlines for registration in the new Register.
